History

SilverBay was founded amidst the credit crisis to deliver trusted advisory services to financial institutions facing extraordinary market conditions. Click for more. »

SilverBay was founded in 2008 to fulfill a market need for a flexible, knowledgeable advisory firm to help financial institutions navigate a treacherous and unprecedented market environment.

We have been and are currently at the heart of the credit, liquidity, and capital crises.  Some of our current work includes helping clients preserve capital while continuing to provide credit and liquidity to their borrowers, as well as manage portfolios of troubled residential and commercial real estate loans located predominantly in California, Arizona, and Nevada.

SilverBay is making significant, market-shaping credit recommendations on residential and commercial real estate portfolios on the West Coast and in most major metropolitan areas across the country. In the course of our work, we see the broad spectrum of institutions from community banks to multi-billion dollar commercial banks. We value millions of loans representing in excess of $500 billion in outstanding principal on a weekly basis.

This gives us unique and invaluable insight into both the challenges and the opportunities present in today’s credit markets—and an exclusive perspective on the industry that is vital to helping design solutions and implement effective policies.

Philosophy

SilverBay believes in a unique dual approach to its analysis that includes analytics and "ground-level" analysis. Click for more. »

It is the combination of superior analytics and “ground-level,” high-touch assessment that provides SilverBay’s clients with risk management and investment intelligence that is unique in the industry.

The thorough data analysis and valuation techniques employed by SilverBay are the foundation of our valuation and risk management processes, but they are only the start.

The on-site analysis performed by our experienced team is a vital component to SilverBay’s ability to identify opportunities and challenges because it incorporates the “human element” and “ground intelligence” that purely quantitative models may miss.

Our dual approach to analysis and valuation provide our team with a unique vantage point on existing loan portfolios and banking institutions.
