
Dennis Bennett
Managing Director and CEO
Mr. Bennett has over 25 years of experience with all aspects of financial institution risk management and has provided management advice to over 75% of the world’s largest banks.
Prior to founding SilverBay Advisors, Mr. Bennett was a Vice President at First Manhattan Consulting Group, specializing in a broad range of risk management topics for major financial institutions both domestic and international.
Prior to his work at First Manhattan Consulting Group, Mr. Bennett was a Director in KPMG’s Financial Risk Management Practice. While at KPMG, Mr. Bennett assisted clients to review and improve their asset/liability and risk management functions, with emphasis on A/LM process and control procedures, interest rate risk measurement and credit risk management, cash and liquidity management, and related areas.
Before joining KPMG, Mr. Bennett was founder and President of Bennett Management, an asset/liability management consulting and software firm serving global financial institutions with policy and process advice on risk management as well as providing Monte Carlo Income Simulation and market valuation models for interest rate risk measurement and management. Previous to that, he was a Senior Vice President for consulting and education at Sendero Corporation. Mr. Bennett was Vice President and Chief Economist at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, where he was also responsible for asset/liability management for the bank.
Mr. Bennett earned his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with concentration in Finance from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA).
Clients served include: the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Merrill Lynch, Barclays Bank, Credit Suisse, Union Bank of Switzerland, Deutsche Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, AIG, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and many others.
